After that, registration will open to anyone aiming to complete a TRIFECTA in 2018 (before October 31). If you register for this event you MUST complete a TRIFECTA by October 31. TRIFECTA status will be checked on this date. Anyone signed up for this event who has not completed a TRIFECTA will be removed from registration WITHOUT a refund. By committing to this event, you are committing to a TRIFECTA. Be sure to sign up for your races if you have not done so already. OPEN, AGE GROUP, and ELITE TRIFECTA racers are welcome. You must be 18 years old on race day to be able to participate in the Trifecta World Championship. This event is meant to celebrate all TRIFECTA Tribe members. Racers will test their grit to earn unique TRIFECTA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP finisher swag. AGE GROUP and ELITE TRIFECTA racers will be eligible for TRIFECTA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP awards and prizes. Rankings will be based off racers’ cumulative time across all three distances. Sunday’s BEAST race will feature a STAGGERED START: racers’ start times will be determined based on their combined time from the SPRINT and SUPER. The racer with the fastest combined time will start first, the following racers will start based on the time difference between the person ranked ahead of them, and after 15 minutes all remaining racers will be released. [Example: Joe’s combined race time for the SPRINT and SUPER is 2:05:30 and Tom’s time is 2:06:00. Joe will start the BEAST first and Tom will be released 30-seconds later.] All AGE GROUP brackets will have their own start waves for the BEAST. In addition to the title, top ELITE racers will be battling for their share of $20,000 of prize money.

    CATEGORIES
The Spartan Race Categories: Each Spartan runs for different reasons. For some, Spartan Race is a high-level sports competition, for others a way to get in shape and for a major part a real way of life. Whatever your motivation, we will always have a category that will match your mood and ensure the best possible experience. The Elite category: Elite athletes compete to win titles, compete against the best, attract potential sponsors and climb to the top of the various Spartan Race Series standings. Elite runners, like the Spartan athletes, are committed to impeccable sportsmanship and strictly adhere to race rules and guidelines. Riders who do not respect these guidelines risk disqualification. If you're wondering why you're running in the elite, it's because you're not one. NEW FOR 2018: THE AGE GROUP CATEGORY (FORMERLY COMPETITIVE CATEGORY): The Age Group Category, formerly known as "Competitive" is a series of starting wave just after the Elite Wave. Age Group riders will follow the same rules and guidelines as Elite riders. The Age Group Categories will be supervised by referees throughout the course as well as video viewing, there will also be a point ranking of the series, a podium and exciting money prizes. The Open category: The Open Category is open to everyone! The Spartans of all weekends, beginner athletes, alone or in a team, you will always be welcome here. The Open Category has the same purpose as the Elites or Age Group categories, get out of your comfort zone, test your physical limits and discover the unique experience of crossing the finish line of a Spartan Race. However, it is not because you have entered the Open Category that you do not have the right to overtake yourself and push the pace of the race to the maximum. Regardless of the category in which you will participate, all your races will be counted to obtain the Trifecta or the Spartan Delta (triangle corresponding to the realized distance). For more informations, please check our FAQ.
